Scratchers who use the Scratch programming language developed at the MIT Media Lab celebrate Scratch and other computational thinking programming languages with a yearly event called Scratch Day. In this presentation I will share with you what I’ve learned about hosting a Scratch event for varied audiences sizes and ages.

Session E (Hands-on) Reading, Writing, Publishing in the Cloud: How 5th Graders CAN work diligently
New this year for students at our school was the combination of Cloud-based reading using MyON, composing notes in an online document, and publishing using Sway and PowerPoint. Fifth graders became experienced researchers, writers and publishers in the Cloud, surprising everyone by making losing their work a thing of the past.

Session E (Hands-on) Using 3D Printing in the K-12 Classroom
Participants will be given a presentation of various 3D printing lessons that can be used with elementary, middle and high school students. Following, participants will have the opportunity to use Tinkercad, iPad apps and/or OpenSCAD, so they can explore first-hand how these programs can be used in their classrooms.
